The Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center (MMTC)
through its Performance Benchmarking service is a leading source
of benchmarking data for manufacturing. Since 1992, Performance
Benchmarking has collected vital operating data on small and mid-size
manufacturing companies across North America. Measuring more than 50
metrics, our database now exceeds 10,000 records.
MMTC provides customized benchmarking reports to
manufacturing companies by direct request or through many of the
nationwide MEP centers affiliated with the National Institute for
Standards and Technology (NIST).
Performance Benchmarking is an exclusive service
of the not-for-profit Michigan Manufacturing Technology
Center (MMTC). MMTC, located in Plymouth, Michigan, is
an affiliate of the NIST - Manufacturing Extension

Following completion of
a user-friendly questionnaire, the company receives a
customized, completely confidential report comparing its
performance to that of similar companies on a variety of
metrics, including: sales growth, productivity, schedule
integrity, delivery, scrap and rejects, computer use,
and more than 50 other measures. PBS queries its
database and custom-selects a set of 25 or more
companies that fit the client’s
industry-price-volume-activity profile.
